I. RESEARCH MAIMS ECONOMICS JOURNAL
The Department of Economics at MAIMS started its bi-annual peer reviewed journal in the month of July 2020. The journal aims at providing an opportunity to academicians, scholars, policy makers, and industrialists to publish their valuable research work in the field of economics and its allied areas such as statistical and mathematical methods, and financial economics etc. We invite original unpublished manuscripts which are not under review for its inaugural issue. The Journal will accept submissions of high quality theoretical and/or empirical research papers.

Project objective |
From the perspective of ASEAN and East Asia, (1) to examine in- depth the main viewpoints/ arguments on key issues that are currently under debate globally on digital trade governance, such as international trade and investment facilitation, cross-border data flow and storage, the use of AI, privacy protection, consumer protection, IPR protection, competition, taxation, and cybersecurity and (2) to explore the possibility and feasibility of (a) setting new global norms that could narrow/fill the gaps existing among stakeholders and be widely accepted and implemented; and (b) whether/how ASEAN and East Asian countries can find regional solutions based on the common interests among member states, collaborate in region-wide rule settings. |
